Health & Safety Policy

Icons is committed to providing a secure and health-oriented environment for everyone within our premises. In adherence to the Health and Safety at Work Act 2016, our objective is to prevent harm to all those at work, as well as others within, or nearby, our facilities.

Our foremost priority is the Health, Safety, and Wellness of our whanau - a term we use to collectively refer to our staff, members, and visitors. We believe that an environment promoting safety and well-being is a key determinant of organisational success.

Our policy, along with the identified hazards, will be communicated effectively to all members of our whanau.

This policy statement and the Hazard Register will be prominently displayed within the Fitness Centre premises, ensuring that all members are aware of potential hazards and the steps we are taking to ensure their safety.

In addition, starting from June 21, 2023, our member induction process will incorporate an introduction to our health and safety policies, ensuring that all new members understand and appreciate the importance of health and safety regulations within our premises.

Through these initiatives, we aim to promote a proactive safety culture that puts the well-being of our whanau at the forefront. Our commitment to safety is not only a requirement of the law, but a fundamental part of our ethos and a responsibility we take very seriously. We urge everyone to join us in upholding these values and contributing to a healthier, safer Icons.

Kids Room Policy

We ask that children are kept completely off the black gym flooring mats during workout times. The exception to this is the legacy class, and children buckled into prams or capsules.

Please be fully aware of where they are at all times. Ensure they are positioned away from equipment and other members before you start each exercise.

You may have seen our playroom for tamariki at the back of the studio. The door will be kept open with a pool gate in place so Mum & Dad can pop their head in during the workout.

Parents must be confident that their child is able to play independently without full time supervision.

We have a wall-mounted TV in this room, as well as toys for the kids to play with.
